Orange French Toast (With Egg)
2 tbsp olive oil | 1-pound oyster mushroom | 4 garlic cloves, minced | 4 green onions, finely chopped | Salt | Pepper | 1 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder.
Beat the first 3 ingredients (eggs, orange juice and grated orange peel) to blend in a medium bowl. Arrange bread in a large baking dish. Pour egg mixture over bread. Cover with plastic and refrigerate at least 1 hour or overnight.
Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a heavy large skillet over medium-high heat. Add bread to pan in batches and cook until golden brown, adding more butter to the pan as necessary, about 2 minutes per side. Transfer to the platter.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with marmalade and maple syrup or honey.
